This Saturday, May 17, 2014, Los Angeles will be hosting the first annual Bite at the Beach to celebrate food and beer pairings. I am extremely honored to have been asked to attend as a media guest. And honestly, how could I refuse? There are few things in life that are better than food and alcohol. As a bonus, I get to feel like I’m doing something for a good cause as a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation.
So my plans for Saturday are set: a day of sampling food from restaurants around the South Bay paired with local craft brews (like Ohana Brewing Co., Alosta Brewing Co., The Bruery, Strand Brewing, Dude’s Brewing, Monkish Brewing, King Harbor Brewing, and more), does it get any better than this? I would love to have my fellow bloggers and readers that are in Los Angeles join me for this one-of-a-kind event!
For the beer connoisseurs amongst you, there will be panel sessions with top chefs and experts, hosted by Food Network Star contestant, Adam Gertler, and discussions with Cicerones and fellow connoisseurs about the art of pairing beer with food.
For those that just like drinking (i.e. me), not only will there be plenty of alcohol and vittles, but there will even be a panel, “Fun with Beer”, that explains how beer can be used to wash your hair, marinate steaks, even fixing your lawn. I’m not entirely sure I want my head smelling like hops and barley, but it sounds interesting and I am super excited to give it a try.
